This site is dedicated to the memory of John Chapelhow.
John Chapelhow was born in Carlisle on June 21, 1992. He lived in a small village outside Penrith with his Dad & Mum,Twin brother Mark and younger brother Dan who were always his best friends and constant companions. He is loved so much and missed every minute of every day & will always be remembered by all his friends and family. xxxxx Our ordinary beautiful lives ended on the 26th June 2010 five days after John and Marks 18th birthday. John and Mark along with a group of their friends went Go-Karting ( Dan couldn't go as he was only 15 they had to be 16 for the track they were visiting) setting off at 6 am on the Saturday morning as there slot was 8 am and was a good hour and a half drive to get there. They got there, did their laps to see which position they would be racing in. John had done brilliant and was positioned 4th out of 20 at the starting line, he put his thumb up to Mark obviously very pleased with his trial laps, they loved go-karting and he had never beaten Mark before, Mark gave him the thumbs up and off they all went. They only did a couple of laps around the track before the race was stopped. John's kart had started slowing down and then slowly creeped into the side of the track, when the man who was looking after the race got to John he was slumped in the driving seat, that was it John had died. Suddenly no warning just gone. Never ill, always fit, healthy, active, one minute enjoying his life to the full, the next gone. He had an undiagnosed Heart problem, if only we had known he maybe could still be with us all now. C.R.Y
